Summer Vacation Blog Tour--Day Six

Welcome Jaime Samms today and her sexy book Muse's Vacation!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, today it's my turn on the blog tour, and I thought you all might like a bit of m/m lovin' set in sunny Greece. This is an older title, but I thought a bit of Christmas out of season was nice, since these guys only ever want each other, anyway!

Enjoy some of my Muse's Vacation: One writer, plus one nasty bout of writer's block, makes a sub willing to risk punishment and take things into his own hands to care for his lover's well-being, but has the power shifted too far this time?

Patrick is pretty new to the idea of having a Dom. When Leo gets trapped in that endless cycle of word-lock, and the inspiration just doesn't come for his writer Dom, Patrick decides discretion is better than taking his needs and frustration to Leo and asking for what he wants. Leo is not pleased to find his sub trying to satisfy his own desires, but even giving Pat what he needs doesn't break through the block, and Patrick knows drastic measures are in order. He has to drag Leo half way around the world before the writer realizes it's time to put his muse, and his sub, in their places

Excerpt:

Leo moved the wine glasses and the candles out of his way so he could reach across the table and cup Patrick's face. "You are allowed to ask for what you want. Never doubt that."

"I know. But you seemed so..." Desperate and fragile were not words Patrick generally associated with his lover, but he couldn't think of any other way to put it. He tried to move his face away, but Leo slid his fingers back into his hair, leaned over the table and kissed him.

The wine-flavoured brush of lips against his sent Patrick's pulse up a notch, but Leo dropped back into his chair.

"I hope you do know you can talk to me. I don't want you to ever think your needs have to wait on me." Leo grinned. "Don't worry. You know I don't make a secret of wanting you. You should come to me when you need something." His eyes glittered over his wine glass as he peered past the rim to look at Patrick. "Whatever you need."

Patrick nodded dumbly, suddenly tongue-tied over his thumping pulse and growing desire. Leo watched him with a greedy expression as he sipped his wine. It seemed to take forever for dessert to make it to the table. Patrick's appetite had gone south by then, but Leo only moved his chair around the table to be nearer. Ostensibly so he could share the dessert, but also where he could slide his hand under the table cloth and into Patrick's lap.

"Oh my." He levelled a look as his fingers glided over Patrick's hard on.

Patrick groaned and crossed his legs, dislodging Leo's hand from his crotch. "Stop it!"

"Is that an order?" Leo's voice teased, but his eyes pinned Patrick, riveting him with their bright glare.

"No, sir." He whispered the concession and picked up his fork, uncrossed his legs. Heat slid up into his cheeks as Leo's hand resumed the light caresses. After he'd choked down two or three bites, he put the fork down again. "If I come in my pants, it's going to be an awkward trip back up to our room," he hissed, glared at Leo.

In return, he got a placid smile. "Then don't come, Baby." Leo picked up the fork with his free hand, daintily sliced off a bit of the rich chocolate and ate it, deliberately taking his time to lick the icing off the tines.

Patrick moaned under his breath and closed his eyes. "You are an ass."

"And you are absolutely gorgeous all flushed and wanting to be fucked."

"How do you know—"

"I know you." Leo leaned close and kissed him, uncaring if anyone disapproved of him sliding his tongue into Patrick's mouth.

Patrick moaned, and when Leo pulled away to look at him, he only could meet his eye for a breath of an instant before he bowed his head. "Can we go upstairs? Please?"

"Why?" Leo's husky voice didn't create even the air of innocence around the question.

"Why do you think?" Patrick snuck a glance at his lover and sighed. "I want you."

Leo waited, his fingers still idly working over Patrick's hard cock through his pants.

"I want you to fuck me. Please, sir." If he'd been blushing before, now his cheeks burned. Impossible to think anyone in the restaurant didn't know what was going on, or how desperate he felt, but he didn’t care.

"Not so hard, is it?"

Patrick shook his head. "Can we please go now?"

Leo called for the check and a few minutes later, they were in the elevator headed up, with Patrick pinned firmly against the back wall, staring up into his lover's eyes. "You're a very cruel man."

Leo lifted his brows, pushed his hips against Patrick.

"Sir."

A slow grin spread across Leo's face. "I am, at that."

Squirrel! by Jaime Samms

________________________________________________________

So, it's that time of year again. Spring brings a lot of things; open windows, birds, manic cats trying to get out the door between my legs, my garden crying desperately for my help and attention, and always, so far, a renewed need to write more, new, better, shinier stories.
It also is the busiest time of year where I work. You see, tax time is both my joy, because writers make so little money, the refund means good things can be had by all, but also my nemesis. I work contract and my contract falls on me at tax time. Wouldn't it be nice if the need to create came in the middle of the winter when I'm home with nothing better to do....

But really, life isn't like that, is it? One can dream. And become really good at time management. I've mastered that first one....

My publishers and editors have wrangled me into submission on the other. I'm so distractible. Anyone ever seen the movie "Up!" ? That little dog, that can be me...squirrel! And in the spring when the sun is shining, and the garden needs me, it's so hard to sit down and do edits, to type up all those snippets of story scratched out on my meagre breaks at work.

Then there's work, where I should be—well—working. And I find myself thinking about all the fantastic story lines I want to write. Seems wherever I am, I want to be somewhere else, doing something else. Spring is a great time of chaos for me. For the most part, it's good, creative chaos, though.
Right now, I'm sitting at the breakfast table amidst this year's Vessey's seed order, clean laundry and breakfast dishes. There's sun and breeze through the open door and the park across the street is full of people. Crocuses are poking up through the brown old grass of last year, and the maple tree is all over red knobby buds. Really, it's chaos everywhere, not just inside me y head.

Easter weekend is stretched out in front of me now, and I can see the completion of a half dozen unfinished projects in the nebulous future before work beckons again on Tuesday. I can also see were the raspberries need culling and tying up, and the roses need to be uncovered, the leaves raked before they rot in place on the grass, and really, someone should put all this laundry away....

But there are so many stories in my head, I'm afraid they'll start running together and the wrong guys will end up in the wrong beds. But then, that could be interesting, too. Squirrel!!!

P.S. On Monday, when you read this, the weekend will be winding down, and I will be flush with accomplishment or lamenting the lost time. Or, I might have caught that elusive squirrel. One never knows.

The Pot Half Full by Jaime Samms

A multi-published author with Freya's Bower and Love You Divine, Jaime Samms writes 'stories between men.' Spinning tales with raw sensuality and drama, like Poor Boy and Muse's Vaction, Jaime's a master of m/m fiction. Be sure to stop by her website for free reads and check out her stunning drawings on deviantART. And now, let's see what she's written for us today!

As my cat sits here on my toes and warms them as only the best of cats can properly do, I wonder. I've never been into the Valentine's Day myth, to be honest. Now, don't freak out. It doesn't mean I don't believe in love. I very much do, or I wouldn't write about it incessantly.
After nearly thirteen years with the same guy, a guy! (I still have little freak outs over that, occasionally.) I've burned through a few incarnations of the idea of love, and one of the ideas that we've both always held is that if you need a special day to declare how much you love your mate, you're doing it all wrong.

You know when you fall in love and everything is new, and you figure the world is going to be a different place? And for a while, it is? I'm happy to say, that new lasted years for us. Every day, I woke up in this world where everything was shiny and great. Who wouldn't want to hang onto that?
Eventually, we had kids. I think the biggest mistake couples make when kids come along is changing their lives completely to accommodate the little creatures. I see the looks of horror from all you mothers out there, but don't panic. Don't call the humane society on me just yet. Let me explain.
Something about love makes people think it's all about happily ever after. No one tells newlyweds about the work, the sacrifice, or the forgiveness that love requires. No one ever tells new parents about how devastating those bundles of joy are to the wedding bed, or the shiny newness they crave in their relationship. This parental filter I found myself looking at my marriage through gave me a whole new look at the world I woke up in every day. (on the days I actually got to wake up, as opposed to stumble out of the nursery in the general direction of where the coffee pot might or might not have coffee in it)
And this is where I get to the part about not changing your entire lives to accommodate the rug rats: coffee in the coffee pot. You know it's love, you know it's for life, when there is never a day there is not coffee in the coffee pot when you need it.
There was one day, very early in our relationship, when I complained about him taking the last cup of coffee and not putting on a new pot. From that day forward, I have never found the pot empty. Not even when he got up with the kids, or worked insane hours or in a town an hour's drive from our home. Not once.

What hasn't changed, over all the years we've been together, is that I am first. When he's hurting, when he's sad, when he's so pissed off at me he can't look at me, when the kids need something, nag or climb his leg for his attention, I'm still his one and only.
Certainly, we changed a lot of things. We got a bigger place to live, we spend our money on them, we gave up a lot of physical comforts to home school our children, but we never compromised our relationship to do any of those things. Now, as the kids grow and show signs of becoming the people they are destined to be, we can see the time coming when it will be as it was in the beginning: us.
And you know what? I see a new incarnation of love on the horizon. I see already the new plans forming, the future that will be a different world to wake up in. I feel the patience of a husband who has given me the space to explore and love take chances. He's put me first at the expense of his own comfort and at the risk of his world changing in ways he might not want it to. He's watched me go through a lot of heartache in the past few months and never once left the coffee pot empty, even when he wasn't sure what I was still doing with him.
That's love.
